A high impact mentorship for early career coaches ready to level up your coaching journey
Build real coaching skills, get hands on high performance experience, and fast track your development as a coach.
Football Alberta’s Coaching Mentorship Program is designed for new and emerging coaches who are seeking hands on experience within a high performance coaching environment.
Our program provides selected mentees with the opportunity to work alongside one of our provincial coaching staff for the full duration of selection camps.
Participants will receive required provincial NCCP training, one-on-one mentorship with high-performance team coaches, a certificate of completion from Football Alberta, and ongoing support toward future coaching opportunities.

Program commitment
- complete required NCCP virtual/online courses (included in program)
- short supplemental learning modules to accelerating your learning
- attend virtual team meetings leading to selection camps (2-8 hour committment)
- two selection camp weekends (Friday evening to Sunday afternoon)
- mini camp prior to teams departure (not every team has a mini camp)
Applicant requirements
- 18 or older
- less than 5 years of coaching experience
- able to commit to a provincial team for the duration of selection camps (camps, meetings, etc)
- willing to complete all learning requirements
- open minded and interested in growing as a coach
Timeline
- Applications open until Friday, January 30
- Successful applicants notified week of February 9-13
- Mandatory virtual onboarding meeting week of February 17-20
- NCCP training dates TBD
- Team meetings late March-early April
- Camps in April, May, June, July depending on the team
